Save the Hawaiian Monk Seal

Hawaiian monk seals are the only pinniped species (seal, sea lion, or walrus) that is found exclusively in the United States.  The monk seal faces impending extinction (within 50 years) as a result of habitat infringement, entanglements, contaminants, food limitation, and other threats.  In addition to contributing to biodiversity, monk seals are a top marine predator and play a vital role in the ocean ecosystem; their loss would likely have ecosystem-wide repercussions.

Saving The Cape Fur Seal From Extinction

Cape Fur Seals, found nowhere else on earth, except around the tip of Africa, although millions of years old, have not evolved into True Seals, and as such, are required to spend up to 50\% of their time on dry-land, to rest, to warm themselves, to mate, to breed and to raise their young.

Offshore islands are their natural habitat. Sealing and physical banning has already ensured that this species has become extinct on every major island off the coast of South Africa.

Save The Seals

There are people, mostly in Canada, who make a sport of taking big clubs with sharp hooks on the end and whacking baby seals in the head with them while the seals are innocently playing!

The horrible process is really bloody and something must be done to help them. Please sign the petition below to show your support to the seals.

Save the Saimaa ringed seal from extinction!

The Saimaa ringed seal (Pusa hispida saimensis) is currently under imminent threat of extinction with only 300 of them left. This world's most endangered seal can only be found in Lake Saimaa in Finland.

Humans are their sole enemy. Banning net fishing only part of the year has not been efficient enough. Straight after allowing net fishing on July this year, several seal pups were found drowned in nets. Fishing restrictions need to be year-round. Nesting peace is also essential for Saimaa ringed seal's survival. Coastal building in their habitats must be strictly limited.

End the seal hunt in Namibia!

Each year from July 1st, a quota of 80 000 Cape Fur seal pups are set to be beaten to death in Namibia. The pups are separated from their mothers. They are herded away from the safety of the sea where they are then beaten to death with pick handles. They are stabbed in the throat, often while still alive.

Save the common and grey seals

The British Isles is home to important populations of both common and grey seals. We are more familiar with the cruel culls undertaken in Canada but hundreds of seals are killed in the United Kingdom each year.

Stop Scotland's Unnecessary Seal Cull

800 seals have been reported shot in Scotland in the last two years, including seals with pups. The shooters provide the numbers; there are no independent checks. Seals are even shot in Seal Conservation Areas.

STOP THE AFRICAN SEAL HUNT

Along the oldest desert coastline in the world and the least populated country on earth has raged a non-traditional foreign inspired slaughter which has become known as the 'Last Baby Seal Hunt on Earth'. It has been this way since 1940. So cruel and against the laws of nature and every known modern method of harvesting of a living wild animal. That it was banned in the USA in 1972 and the EU in 1983 and stopped by all the world's remaining sealing countries of Canada, Greenland, Norway or Russia in 1987.

Stop the Seal Slaughter! Urge Canada to End Shameful Killing

For centuries, pregnant harp seals have migrated from Greenland down the coast of Canada, stopping each spring to give birth on the ice floes off Newfoundland. And every year, the Canadian government funds a trade in which the baby seals are massacred by club-wielding sealers from the local fishing community while their pelts remain soft enough to sell on the international fur market.

End Canada's commercial seal hunt

Canada is a great country, and rather than tarnishing its reputation in order to sell cruel seal products, I am asking you to protect seals and end the commercial seal hunt.

People around the world continue to say 'no' to seal products, but the Canadian government stubbornly continues trying to sell these cruel products. They are fighting the EU ban at the WTO and trying to overturn the ban in Russia. The bans must be defended.

A grey seal which locals have named "Keith" has taken up residence in the River Severn in Bewdley, Worcestershire, England.  Keith has become a local sensation but the Angling Trust, an association of fishermen, is demanding that Keith be removed "to protect vulnerable fish stocks."
